Home Learning

Dear Parents and Pupils,

Four weeks ago the government took the decision to close all schools across the country. In order for your child to continue learning at home, Bryn Offa provided them with a learning pack and further links on the school website to interactive resources. In addition to this, Easter activities were also posted on the individual class homepages. As a staff we now feel these those resources have been exhausted and therefore further learning tasks will need to be provided.

Starting from 9:00am Monday, and each Monday throughout the summer term, each class homepage will be updated with a week’s worth of tasks. These can be found using the tabs on the top of the Bryn Offa website and scrolling down to find – Class 5 Homepage for example.

These tasks are not designed to work like a full day in school. But more of a little and often approach. It’s safe to say that the biggest priority for everyone at the moment is to stay safe and to look after each other. If these tasks help pass the time, then great.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of the tasks set, please don’t hesitate to contact your class teacher. The email address can be found on the individual class homepages.

Best wishes, I look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Mr Jones

Class Homepages

Good Afternoon Bryn Offa Team,

Just a quick note to remind you to check your individual class homepage using the tab at the top of the page. These have recently been updated with individual class email addresses so that you are able to contact your class teacher directly with any questions or concerns that you may have.

In addition to this, you will find details of Mrs Hartland’s rainbow challenge. How many rainbows can we create altogether? I have seen loads on my daily walks and they always put a smile on my face.

Stay safe and take care everyone!

White Rose Maths Home Learning

Good Morning

The link below takes you to the home learning link of the White Rose maths site. This is the scheme of work that we use at Bryn Offa.

From this link, you will be able to access a video demonstration of the topic currently being covered by your child, a question sheet to check their understanding and (most importantly) the answer sheet.

This section of the site is updated daily. There are a few lessons already on there. Hopefully, this will be your daily maths session all sorted.

Best wishes, keep looking after each other.

Home Learning Packs

On Tuesday evening, the teaching staff made the decision to start creating home learning packs in the event of a school closure. These packs have been sent home with the children yesterday and today. When the school closes, please have a look through the material and encourage your child to complete the activities. The majority of the tasks are revision based and therefore recapping existing learning. If your child is currently absent from school, these packs will be delivered at the soonest opportunity.

In addition to these packs, My Maths homework will be updated regularly by the teaching staff and there is some additional material for each year group that can be accessed using the web links below.

In order to access the additional Twinkle Packs, you will need to follow the steps below. This company have allowed all parents a free months pass in order to support the learning of each child during these testing times.

Many thanks for your support.

Class 1 – Sport Relief

For Sport Relief the children came dressed in their sports kit ready to take part in the Sport Relief mile. All children completed the one mile challenge and some children ran much further!

Class 1 and 2 Visit the Heritage Centre

Today Class 1 and 2 enjoyed a muddy walk to the Llanymynech Heritage Centre. Along the walk, we spotted signs of Spring and ticked them off our checklist. Down at the centre, we found a variety of fauna to match up to our colour catchers, and searched in different habitats for wildlife.

Class 1 – Pancake day

Mysterious Egg!

Class 1 went for a walk around school today to look for signs of winter. We had just ticked off a bare tree and some pine cones on our checklist when the children stumbled across an enormous, mysterious egg! We carried it carefully back to class and made a nest for it. There have been some suggestions from the children that it might be a dinosaur egg…!

Our D&T, Gingerbread men.

This morning KS1 baked gingerbread men.  Children followed a recipe and mixed our ingredients together to make our delicious biscuits.  At break time we decided to eat them  …… yum !
